Leaving Las Vegas

Our last stop on our tour la viva vegas was the one and only Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign

Well we had fun and saw a lot of random, cool, creepy, and/or gross stuff.

But we were ready to head home.

And I had to pack to go visit Stace and Brooke in Chicago for the First Annual Roommate Reunion.

Viva Vegas: Pawn Stars

We have been kinda obsessed with Pawn Stars. They are on the History Channel and they know so much about random stuff.

So Since we were in Vegas we added it to the list of things to do.

Dom put on his negotiation face while we waited in the line outside.

Still waiting in line and taking pictures of anything to not be bored...

Once we got inside (which is remarkably tiny) we saw a lot of stuff from the show.

anyone out there watch Pawn Stars and remember the episode they made wine?

Found out that these gold clocks are called death clocks because the maker probably died making it. They used to soak them in Mercury and then burn it off, in a closed room. Thank you science for teaching us not to do things like this.

Viva Vegas: Fremont Street

Although I had never heard of Fremont Street it was a highlight for me.
It is the old downtown in case you, like me, did not know.
The entire length of the downtown area is covered with a screen canopy.
And they play music videos on it. Here is KISS
They played Time Warp and people were actually dancing to it. It's a jump to the left...
I guess by people I just mean me.

I spent most of time trying to get the right photos to make this...I know this trend has kinda pasted...but I still love it!

Viva Vegas: Museum of Wax

I never would have paid full price to take a tour of Madame Toussade's because there is a lot to do in Vegas and 40 bucks to see wax people wasn't on the top of my list.

So when we got really cheap tickets along with CRAZY cheap tickets to see none other than...
We took it. And it was super fun. Epic even.

Then we went to see the Wax Museum and most of the people looked pretty real.
It was kind creepy to get close to them because every once in a while I thought they might blink or something.
I have always wanted to know how tall Shaq really is in terms I can see.
Dom got to hang out with Snoop (so real huh?)
Oh and I saw Marilyn (She was taller than I expected)
and this last one is for my Dad, because well these two were cut from the same mold. I love you dad!

Viva Vegas:Part Deux: LIONS

If you have 200 bucks to blow in Vegas. Don't blow it on the slot machines, roulette, or even Blackjack. Head straight for the MGM Grand.
And make an appointment to met this little guy.
For 200 bucks you get about 6 minutes. Yes that is a little more than 55 cents a second.
But if I was given the choice between 200 bucks gambling and probably the only time in my life that I could ever hold a LION, I would take it and we probably would have, had we known sooner!
And if maybe that's not worth it for you, you can always check out the grow up lions for free!
This seems like a very cool, but very boring job. He just sat there and sat there, I am really not even sure what his job is, besides "sit and watch the lions"

Viva Vegas

We work nights and weekends. (you probably already know that)
Which has wonderful benefits. Like NEVER (well almost never) having to wake up to an alarm.
It is beautiful, although sometimes you realize you have slept the day away and it often eliminates the joy of coffee.
But now that it is cold, the joy of coffee is back in my life.

Okay there are lots of other benefits too but sometimes the negatives, like working nights and weekends, hang around our necks and we long for freedom and fresh air. So we retreated to the least fresh place I can think of in the good old US of A, Las Vegas. But it was freedom and fun and we loved it!

So Dom drove the nine hour drive...through mostly the scenic and wonderful...
And we got to our hotel that was so out of our league that we didn't know what to do...literally, I know don't judge us.
And when they asked us if we would like to upgrade our view we naturally declined and expected views of a parking structure, but instead found this.

I am not one to take pictures of hotel rooms. In fact I think it is creepy, but this one was smashing!

and the view was so wonderful!
Stay tuned for more on our trip!
