Enjoying My Free Time

Some of you may know, I have been working part time this year. 40 hours in a 2 Week period translates to working 2-3 days a week. And it is AMAZING!

So I have been enjoying my time reading:

But I am a sucker for the feel good stuff too:

So I have also utilized the library to rent Chicago and read part of Eat Pray Love (sometimes I'm not very dedciated)

Also I have been using my free time to open up a shop on Etsy. For now I am selling Vintage finds, but I am going to be listing some of my handmade creations as well. I plan to be upgrading some things, making my own labels, but I have to have a logo first and, well, I am going nowhere fast with that...haha. But I do have a shop name! Go me! "Rely Vintage & Handmade"- Rely is just the first 2 letters of my first and middle name, I'm not too creative at the wordsmithing. Anyway, its a cheap thrill for me and gives me a better reason than just my desire to create. Anyway, check it out, I hope you like it.

AFI Top 100 Movie Challenge

A while ago one of my best friends and I decided to watch AFIs top 100 Movies.

I don't think we got any farther than Casablanca, Gone with the Wind, Citizen Cane, and maybe a handful of others. For years I have tried to resurrect the challenge but when faced with "Shane" or another rerun of "you've Got Mail" well I haven't been very strong.

So I have begun again, this time armed with Netflix and some spare time. I have watched a few, namely "Tootsie" and "One Flew.." With the first I was rather disappointed, maybe it was revolutionary in it's time but I feel it lacked any climactic ending. But with the second my faith was renewed in AFI. I will press on. If you have't watched it yet, I highly recommend. Not to mention Danny DeVito was unrecognizable which is a bonus.

I spoke too soon....

Yesterday was a gloriously chill and foggy day. So what did we do? Go to the beach and relax with next to no one else there. Amazing. (well that and we watched Babel, which was terrible, 2 thumbs down)

Anyway back to the beach. I painted, enjoying the quiet, cool, fogginess with a hope of cooler days to come.
and Dom got in the frigid water, when almost immediately a seal starting following him around. Seriously like ten feet away and they were in the first wave break. Dom was nearly out of the water when I finally thought that I should be taking a picture, oh well. I will try and get a picture next time because it happens almost every time we got to Sunset.

We finished off the cozy day with comfort food. We had chili and cheese dip, tomato soup
with a few yummy extras
finished with a grilled pulled pork and cheese sandwich. In terms of weather and food, it was the perfect day.
