Backyard Birdwatching

I came home from checking our mail and noticed a lot of movement behind our shed where the bird feeder my dad made for me is located. So I ducked inside to grab our camera and switch the lens.

And armed with the bigger lens I snuck up on them.

Slowly step by step I got closer...

And I watched them enjoy their food in the cold weather.

Then I realized I wasn't the only one enjoying the view.

And I think the birds knew too, in fact I think these were on look out.

And I think he realized that lunch wasn't coming anytime soon.

Art Show

So our school is having a staff/faculty art show. I am thinking about entering just for the fun of being in an art show. But I just cleaned out my portfolio of random paintings and I am not feeling inspired enough to paint.

So I guess photography it is...

But I'm not sure what to submit. A little help friends?

And I think Dom should submit one of these...

Can we get a vote?

Viva Vegas:Part Deux: LIONS

If you have 200 bucks to blow in Vegas. Don't blow it on the slot machines, roulette, or even Blackjack. Head straight for the MGM Grand.
And make an appointment to met this little guy.
For 200 bucks you get about 6 minutes. Yes that is a little more than 55 cents a second.
But if I was given the choice between 200 bucks gambling and probably the only time in my life that I could ever hold a LION, I would take it and we probably would have, had we known sooner!
And if maybe that's not worth it for you, you can always check out the grow up lions for free!
This seems like a very cool, but very boring job. He just sat there and sat there, I am really not even sure what his job is, besides "sit and watch the lions"

Campus Cats

We have a bit of a cat problem on campus. The problem is that they are multiplying. But they are oh so cute. Months ago I tried to adopt this one, but I felt too bad taking it away from it's family.
We need to do something with all these cats, I would help. But they look at me like this.
And instead of catching them, I do this.
They are so happy here.
And they enjoy our campus so much.

But cats don't have the same moral codes about incest as we have. Soon there could be more babies.
But slowly by slowly they are disappearing one by one. I am hoping they are finding their way to a farm full of mice to catch. I'll miss you little guys.
